Gala Technology, the innovative development team behind the cloud based, secure and PCI DSS compliant payment solution, SOTpay, are celebrating yet another victory as they were awarded the ‘Security Innovation Of The Year 2019’ at the national Payment Awards.

Some of the largest names in the payment ecosystem attended the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square on 13thNovember 2019 for the 7th annual award ceremony, which were hosted by TV comedienne, Holly Walsh, but it was the Yorkshire based technology organisation that wowed the judges to pick up the converted prize.

This success, follows an impressive year, which has seen the tech company pick up FIVE major awards including the ‘PCI: 2019 Award For Excellence’ alongside ‘Best Use Of Technology’ and ‘Security Solution Of The Year’ within contact centre environments and ‘Best International Card Not Present’ (payment) solution.

Jason Mace, Chairman of Gala Technology stated ‘We are thrilled to receive this prestigious payments’ award, especially when you consider the calibre of competitor we had within the category. Our SOTpay solution, enables businesses to process secure, authenticated transactions via telephony, web chat and social media platforms in a PCI DSS compliant manner. Using our technology also helps merchants eliminate the risk of fraud related chargebacks in ‘Card Not Present’ channels, protecting their bottom line.’

It would appear that there is a significant need and demand for the product too, with UK Finance, the collective voice for the banking and finance industry reporting a 19% growth in the amount of fraud on UK payment cards in 2018, rising to the tune of £671.4m.
