Onecom Launches Wave: A Next-Generation Cloud Phone System

Since the acquisition of Gradwell Communications in July, Onecom has undertaken a full evaluation of its hosted voice strategy across a base of nearly 100,000 users and a channel community of more than 1,000 Partners. As a result, the company is making Wave its hero solution – a transition that is expected to generate around £20m in annual recurring revenue for the platform.

Wave is not a new or untested product. It has been in operation for many years and is trusted by thousands of users, providing a stable foundation for continued innovation under Onecom. Wave operates in a mature market with established players; however, its key differentiator is Onecom’s full ownership and control. Because Wave is developed and operated in-house, Onecom can innovate quickly, tailor features to customer and Partner needs and evolve the roadmap at pace. This allows Wave to provide a simpler, more cost-effective and more responsive alternative to third-party solutions.

Built on AWS and developed in the UK, Wave delivers VoIP calling, multi-device access, intuitive call management, voicemail transcription and a simple control panel that enables instant configuration. Under Onecom’s ownership, further enhancements are planned across integrations, reporting and collaboration features. When combined with Onecom’s nationwide engineering footprint and deep service capability, Wave offers a level of support and reliability that is uncommon in the UK cloud telephony market.

Wave has already seen significant early traction with direct customers and the channel, with a growing number of Onecom Partners onboarding customers and championing the platform. Onecom is committed to providing Partners with a platform they can rely on, influence and feel confident taking to market, backed by transparent support, consistent delivery and a clear innovation roadmap.

Darren Ridge, CEO at Onecom, said:
“Wave is a pivotal milestone for Onecom and a clear demonstration of what the Gradwell acquisition allows us to achieve. By owning the platform, we can innovate at speed, prioritise the features customers and Partners actually need and offer a cloud phone system that is simple, flexible and built for the future.

“Our commitment to customers and Partners is central to this. Wave gives them a platform they can trust: modern, competitively priced and backed by Onecom’s nationwide engineering and support capability. The early Partner adoption has been extremely encouraging, and we’re excited to extend Wave to our direct customers as we continue to develop the platform.”

As development continues into 2026, Onecom will expand Wave’s capabilities further, supporting businesses as they transition towards more integrated communication and collaboration tools.

If your organisation wants a more cost-effective, feature-rich alternative to traditional phone systems, Wave is ready when you are. Book your free discovery call with Onecom to understand the savings and improvements Wave can bring to your organisation.
