Teesside-based Lemon Contact Centre has appointed an expert with an extensive track record as its Human Resources Manager.

Paul Ovington, who has more than three decades’ experience in the field of HR, has joined the company, which is located at Lockheed Court, Preston Farm Business Park, Stockton,

For 22 years he was a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer HR in the RAF where he was responsible for Squadron and Station HR functions. He served for a further seven years as a full-time Reservist in a HR capacity.

During his time in the Military, Paul managed all aspects of personnel administration including continuous improvement, internal validation, employee engagement and professional development.

The 49-year-old has also worked as a HR business partner with County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, where he provided advice to assist with the delivery of organisational strategies, plans, projects, and objectives for more than 600 staff.

Lemon specialises in providing outsourced multi-channel contact services to a range of customers and sectors across the UK.

Since being established in 2003, it has forged a strong reputation for having contact centre agents who do not use robotic call scripts and are trained to have real conversations with customers.

Jen Cummins, Lemon’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Paul brings an impressive set of skills and experience to the business.

“Lemon is committed to nurturing a supportive culture throughout the business and Paul’s knowhow and devotion will help us further embed this ethos as we grow and develop.”

Paul said: “I was attracted to become part of the Lemon family due to its central belief that people are the most important part of the organisation.

“This is reflected by how it stands out from the call centre crowd with its emphasis on proper interaction between call handers and customers

“My main focus will be to help Lemon achieve its goals, retain and attract a high calibre of staff and support employees to reach their full potential within the workplace.”

Paul, who lives in Yarm, is a FA level 1 qualified football coach and in his spare time, enjoys spending time with his family and supports Middlesbrough FC.
