The entire Ashford based Europa Contact Centre took part in the ‘Samarathon.’ The team ran or walked a total of 26 miles to raise money for The Samaritans.
After losing a colleague to suicide, the team wanted to do something to bring themselves together in her memory and in doing so, raise money for and awareness for The Samaritans, a charity for anyone who needs someone, responding to over 10,000 calls a day.
Ashford Contact Centres General Manager, Mat Jobson comments “I am incredibly proud of my Contact Centre team taking part in walking and running over 26 miles for The Samaritans to remember such a loved member of our team.”
The Europa Team fundraise in their spare time for charities that are close to their hearts. The Europa 50:50 charity match funding programme means that Europa has pledged to match the funds raised by the team, raising the total to £500.
Mat continues “The team came together, supported one another, and grew their relationships on a personal and professional level. Mental health awareness and wellbeing is so important, and our team working tirelessly for such an important cause is admirable. Fundraising brings people together, and our 50:50 match funding promise is a great way of supporting our staff, whilst helping so many incredible causes.”
Since 2019 alone, across all divisions of Europa, over £23,000 has been raised and the team has supported more than 25 UK charities.
