Former Water Plus managing director brings extensive operational, debt resolution, and leadership experience to DCBL

Debt resolution specialist, DCBL, has appointed Jamie Gibson as its new managing director to lead the business into its next phase of growth.

The water sector stalwart brings extensive experience across operations, debt resolution, and strategic leadership to the business and will spearhead DCBL’s expansion into new sectors while continuing to strengthen its presence in already established markets.

Jamie joins DCBL from Water Plus, where he played a key role in the creation and operational build of the commercial water retail business serving over 350,000 customers. He rose to the role of managing director for corporate customers, focusing on operational efficiency, culture, and strategic growth. During his decade at Water Plus, he was instrumental in team recruitment, training, and back-office operations.

Prior to his role at Water Plus, Jamie was the head of debt, business services at Severn Trent Water, progressing from a customer service role to strategic positions in debt management over eight years. Jamie began his career in the Royal Navy, serving for eight years as a weapons engineer, which instilled him with discipline and a strong work ethic.

Jamie Gibson, Managing Director, DCBL, said: “DCBL has established a strong position across a variety of sectors, including parking, commercial and residential property and the automotive industry, and it continues to grow across further verticals. The business’s ambition to expand into new sectors really resonated with me. My focus is on bringing the team together, building on the company’s established culture and ensuring that we deliver sustainable growth in the coming years.

“We want to operate efficiently, expand our presence in sectors such as utilities, energy, and telecoms, and continue to enhance the customer experience through technology and innovation. DCBL has a unique offering, and my role is to make sure we continue to evolve, improve, and expand while maintaining ethical, fair, and supportive practices.”

Jamie brings a passion for leadership and team development, with a focus on understanding what motivates people and creating high-performing, united teams. He is also interested in the responsible use of technology, innovation, and operational efficiency to improve both business outcomes and customer experience.

Darren Connor, Group COO of DCBL and DCB Legal, said: “Jamie’s appointment marks an important step in DCBL’s growth. His combination of operational expertise, leadership experience, and strategic vision makes him the perfect choice to lead the next chapter of our development.

“He brings a practical understanding of operations, having risen through the ranks, alongside a strong focus on culture, efficiency, and innovation. We are confident that under his leadership, DCBL will continue to grow responsibly and successfully, while exploring new markets and opportunities.”

DCBL is one of the UK’s leading providers of debt resolution services and the country’s largest parking enforcement debt recovery company. It recently appointed Eddie Harrison as the managing director of its sister company, DCB Legal. The businesses aim to offer one solution across both organisations, to support with debt recovery through to court action, with its data-driven and ethical approach.
