About the Client:

My client is a leader in its field and provides a variety of outsourced services to clients across the UK.

Owing to growth in their business they are currently seeking a Business Development Director to join them to focus on delivering strategic development of a public sector focussed service line.  These contracts are typically 10 year deals with a value of c£50Million+

About the Role:

The role will encompass:

  • Accountability for delivering new business wins and retention of current contracts
  • Strategic direction of sales and client development approaches
  • Coordination of the solutions, bid and sales team to deliver strategic and business outcomes
  • Delivering the full sales cycle from identification of leads, bids, presentations and negotiations
  • Delivering innovations to bids including utilisation of enhanced technology and operational efficiencies

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have experience at a senior level of securing contracts in the public sector, particularly to the local / central government areas.  This could include waste management, environmental services, fleet management, logistics, recycling, workforce management etc. The key prerequisites are demonstrable business development experience coupled with the ability to innovate within the bid cycle.
